Masala Oats – Healthy Recipe

Masala oats is very nutritious and flavorful. A great filling breakfast or dinner with oats, which reduce cholesterol, improve digestion and control blood glucose levels. This is such an easy and effortless recipe, all you have to do is throw in the spice powders, add oats, cook until done and serve.

Masala Oats – Healthy Recipe

Prep time             : 5 minutes

1 Cup oats
1 Small chopped onion
2 Green chilies, chopped
1 Small tomato, finely chopped
1/2 Teaspoon pav bhaji masala
1/2 Teaspoon red chili powder
1/2 Teaspoon turmeric powder
1/2 Teaspoon cumin seeds
1 Tablespoon oil
Salt to taste.


  • Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds. When it starts to crackle add green chilies, onion and salt. Sauté until golden brown.
  • Add in the tomatoes, pav bhaji masala, turmeric powder and red chili powder. Sauté and cook until mushy.
  • Now, its time to add in the oats and mix well. Add 2 cups of water, close the lid and cook for 4-5 minutes.
  • Garnish with cilantro and serve hot!
