Lauki bharta is a unique dish. I have used ginger and garlic in this dish, which is effective in fighting infections, but some people don’t add for preparing bharta.

Ingredients: 1 Cup grated lauki (Bottle Gourd) 0.5 Cup chopped onion 2-3 Finely chopped Green chillies 1 Tablespoon finely chopped ginger and garlic 0.5 Teaspoon cumin seeds 0.5 Teaspoon turmeric powder 0.5 Teaspoon chilli powder 0.5 Teaspoon garam masala powder 1 Tablespoon oil Cilantro Salt to taste.
- Heat oil in a pan and splutter cumin seeds.
- Add chopped onion, finely chopped ginger-garlic, finely chopped green chillies and salt. Sauté till it turns golden brown.
- Now add the dry ingredients turmeric powder, chilli powder, and garam masala powder and Sauté.
- Add grated lauki and cook for 5-10 minutes.
Garnish with cilantro and serve hot.
